News Luke Kempner's The Only Way is Downton to Play London's Trafalgar Studios The Only Way is Downton, a solo show written and performed by Luke Kempner that was seen on the Edinburgh Fringe, is to transfer to the West End's Trafalgar Studios, beginning performances Jan. 27, 2014, prior to an official opening Jan. 28, for a run through Feb. 22; a U.K tour will follow.

Directed by Owen Lewis, with script edited by Jeremy Limb, it is produced by James Seabright. As celebrities start appearing at the Abbey, cultures clash and eras collide in this new parody. Building on the multi-character original scenario of his YouTube video, Kempner has created an original story in which the characters of "Downton Abbey" are in crisis and have to call upon modern celebrities in their appeal to save the Dowager's country pile from certain closure.

Kempner's previous stage credits include Sleeping Beauty at Salisbury Playhouse, South Pacific (U.K. tour of Bartlett Sher's production), LIFT (Soho Theatre), and U.K. tours of Avenue Q and Les Miserables.
