CHICAGO -- The Jan. 31 revival by Apple Tree Theatre Company of The Kiss of Spider Woman will be energized by Dirk Lumbard's portrayal of Molina, the gay window-dresser with a B-movie fantasy life. Lumbard, winner of the Stage Door Award for best actor in a musical for the Stratford Festival's The Music Man, is slated to appear as the Tin Man in the national tour of The Wizard of Oz starring Mickey Rooney and Eartha Kitt.
In Kiss of the Spider Woman, Cindy Marchionda, a New York-based actor who at one time played Morales in the national tour of A Chorus Line, takes on the role of the 'Spider Woman.'
Because of the theater's intimate space, catwalks that project over the audience will play a big part in the environmental set design.
