News Lunney Joins A Perfect Crime Off-Broadway Sept. 29 The long-running Off-Broadway thriller A Perfect Crime welcomes Broadway veteran Robert Emmet Lunney Sept. 29.

The veteran actor succeeds Patrick Ryan Sullivan in the role of Harrison Brent. Sullivan exited the Off-Broadway production Sept. 28.

A Perfect Crime also features Catherine Russell, Michael Brian Dunn (The Life), Patrick Robustelli and Richard Shoberg ("All My Children").

Written by Warren Manzi and directed by Jeffrey Hyatt, A Perfect Crime, according to press notes, "tells the story of Margaret Brent, an accomplished Connecticut psychiatrist and potential cold-blooded killer. When her wealthy husband turns up dead, she gets caught in the middle of a terrifying game of cat and mouse with a deranged patient and the handsome but duplicitous investigator assigned to the case. As the clock ticks to the final chilling revelation, a mounting set of secrets and indiscretions leads to a shocking turns of events. Did Margaret Brent commit 'the perfect crime?'"

Perfect Crime opened as an Equity Showcase in 1987 and since moving Off-Broadway has been running for 21 years, making it the longest-running play in the history of New York theatre.

Lunney has also appeared in the Broadway companies of Mauritius, Deuce, The Graduate, A Doll's House, Dancing at Lughnasa and the Off-Broadway production The Dying Gaul.
