News Lynn Nottage's Intimate Apparel to Transfer to London's Park Theatre The British premiere production of Lynn Nottage's Intimate Apparel, currently running at Ustinov Studio at Bath's Theatre Royal, is to transfer to London's Park Theatre, beginning performances July 2 prior to an official opening July 9, for a four-week run through July 27.

Co-produced by Theatre Royal Bath Productions and the Park Theatre, it is directed by Ustinov Studio's artistic director Laurence Boswell. The play, which won the New York Drama Critics’ Circle Award, Outer Critics Circle Award and John Gassner Award, is set in 1905 in New York City where "Esther, a black seamstress, sews exquisite lingerie for clients who range from wealthy white patrons to prostitutes. She has saved enough to allow her to dream of one day opening a beauty salon for black women, and at 35 years old, longs for a husband and a future. When she begins to receive beautiful letters from a lonesome Caribbean man who is working on the Panama Canal, it looks like life may be about to take a different course."

The cast is led by Tanya Moodie, who most recently appeared opposite Lenny Henry in the Bath Theatre Royal production of Fences that transferred to the West End, as Esther. Also in the company are Chu Omambala, Ilan Goodman, Sara Topham, Dawn Hope and Rochelle Neil.
