News Lypsinka's John Epperson Removes the Drag for Show Trash Dec. 15 John Epperson, who is currently enjoying success in his latest show, As I Lay Lyp-Synching at the Minetta Lane Theatre, will appear out of drag for one night only Dec. 15.

Epperson will take to the stage of Joe's Pub for John Epperson: Show Trash, which traces his life from Hazlehurst, Mississippi, to the New York stage. Epperson will be featured at the piano, where he will sing songs and special material that illuminate his life so far. The one-man show features direction by Barry Kleinbort with special lyrics by Tom Orr; show time is 9:30 PM. John Epperson began his career 20 years ago as a rehearsal pianist for American Ballet Theatre. Since that time he has become best known as the drag star Lypsinka. As Lypsinka, the performer has made star turns in I Could Go On Lip-Synching (Off Broadway) followed by The Fabulous Lypsinka Show, Lypsinka! Now It Can Be Lip-Synched, Lypsinka! A Day in the Life, Lypsinka Must Be Destroyed! and most recently The Boxed Set. Lypsinka has also appeared in the films "Wigstock: The Movie," "Vampire's Kiss," "Witch Hunt" and the HBO film of "Angels in America."
