News Lyric Opera's Carousel, Starring Laura Osnes and Steven Pasquale, Finds Its Carrie Pipperidge Jenn Gambatese, seen on Broadway in Tarzan and All Shook Up, will portray Carrie Pipperidge in Lyric Opera of Chicago's new production of Rodgers and Hammerstein's Carousel, which will be presented April 11-May 3.

Gambatese joins two-time Tony nominee Laura Osnes as Julie Jordan and Steven Pasquale as Billy Bigelow in this new production directed and choreographed by Tony, Emmy and Olivier Award winner Rob Ashford.

“We could not be more delighted to welcome Jenn Gambatese to our Carousel cast as the irrepressible Carrie Pipperidge,” said Anthony Freud, Lyric’s general director, in a statement. “She was unforgettable in her Lyric debut last season as Maria in The Sound of Music. We cannot wait to see her interpretation of this brilliant character.”

The cast will also include opera singer Denyce Graves as Nettie Fowler.

Carousel will be conducted by Broadway veteran David Chase. The production will also have set design by Paolo Ventura, costume design by Tony winner Catherine Zuber and lighting design by Neil Austin. Michael Black will be chorus master.

Carousel will play the Civic Opera House, 20 N. Wacker Dr., Chicago. Tickets start at $29, and are now available at lyricopera.org/carousel or at (312) 827-5600.
