News Lyrics, By Don Black — with Webb, Friedman, Mead and Rawle — to Be Broadcast BBC Radio 2 will broadcast the upcoming salute to lyricist Don Black at the London Palladium.

The star-studded tribute to the songsmith who penned the lyrics to Merlin, Song & Dance, Aspects of Love, Sunset Boulevard and Dracula, the Musical will be presented at the London venue Aug. 17. The performance will be taped and subsequently broadcast on BBC Radio 2 Aug. 22 at 7:30 PM London time. A host of stars — including Marti Webb, Maria Friedman, Lee Mead, Ryan Molloy, Matt Rawle, Gary Barlow, Craig David, Mica Paris, Elkie Brooks, Joe Longthorne, Peter Grant and David Arnold — will join the Royal Philarmonic Orchestra to celebrate Black's work. Michael Parkinson will host.

In addition to his theatrical outings, Black has also written the lyrics for the songs "Born Free," "Diamonds Are Forever" and "Ben."
