Famed set designer Loy Arcenas helms the Ma-Yi Theatre Company's world premiere of Han Ong's Watcher. The production which began at Off-Broadway's Cap 21 Theatre May 24 is now set to end its scheduled run June 17.
Watcher is a coming of age story about a teenage boy. He tries to find his way in the neon and glitz of Times Square as his mother tries to understand.
The cast of Watcher features Anthony Ruivivar (of TV's "Third Watch"), Orlando Pabotoy, Mia Katigbak, Ching Valdes-Aran, Marty Zentz, Harvey Peer, Gilbert Cruz, Jojo Gonzalez and Virginia Wing.
Arcenas, who has made a name for himself designing sets for such Broadway productions as Love! Valour! Compassion!, The Night of the Iguana and High Society, serves as director and set designer for this production. Costume design is by Clint Ramos, lighting design by James Vermeulen and sound design as well as original music by Fabian Obispo.
