The 11th annual MAC (Manhattan Association of Cabarets and Clubs) Awards for outstanding work in New York cabarets will be given today, March 31, in a ceremony at Lincoln Center's Alice Tully Hall.
Nominations were announced Feb. 27.
Although the line-up for this year's MAC Awards ceremony has not been finalized, past stars have included Liza Minnelli, Bea Arthur and Kathy Lee Gifford. David Armstrong will direct the evening, which will include 3 special awards for outstanding achievement to live entertainment: Andrea Marcovicci, Frank Military (of Warner/Chappell Music publishing), and the late composer Burton Lane.
Cable television personality Jamie deRoy serves as President of the MAC, with Judy Barnett and Michael A. Kerker as Veeps. Their Board of Advisors includes Joan Rivers, Lily Tomlin, Alan King, Jerry Herman and Dorothy Loudon.
