News Mackie, Gummer and Lysy to Star in Leight’s James and Annie Reading Anthony Mackie, Mamie Gummer and Austin Lysy will star in a reading of Warren Leight’s new play James and Annie Dec. 18 at 5PM at the Kirk Theatre at Theatre Row.

Marion McClinton directs the reading of the play, which had its world premiere in Cincinnati in March 2003.

Mackie has appeared on Broadway in Drowning Crow and Ma Rainey's Black Bottom and Off-Broadway in A Soldier's Play and McReele, among other plays. He has appeared in films such as “Million Dollar Baby,” “Brother to Brother,” “She Hates Me,” “Half Nelson” and “8 Mile.”

Gummer and Lysy were co-stars in The Water’s Edge at Second Stage, which opened in June 2006. Gummer starred in Mr. Marmalade at the Roundabout Theatre Company and Lysy has starred in Macbeth on Broadway and in Hobson’s Choice at the Atlantic Theater Company.

Leight won a Tony Award for the play Side Man. His other works include No Foreigners Beyond This Point; Glimmer, Glimmer and Shine; Mayor, the Musical; and The Final Investigation of Ceaucescu's Dog.
