Mad Cow Theatre to Present Letts' Superior Donuts

News   Mad Cow Theatre to Present Letts' Superior Donuts
Superior Donuts, the new play by Pulitzer Prize winner Tracy Letts (August: Osage County) that ended its Broadway run at the Music Box Theatre on Jan. 3, will make its Southeast regional premiere in March at Florida's Mad Cow Theatre.

Directed by Rob Anderson, the production will play the Orlando venue March 19-April 18. Casting will be announced at a later date. Superior Donuts, according to press notes, "is the story of Arthur Przybyszewski, who owns a decrepit donut shop in an uptown neighborhood of Chicago. Franco Wicks, a black teenager who is his only employee, wants to change the shop for the better.  This comedy-drama, set in the heart of one of Chicago’s most diverse communities, explores the challenges of embracing the past and the redemptive power of friendship."

Superior Donuts had its world premiere at Steppenwolf's home in Chicago in 2008 and was slightly revised before it moved (this fall) to Broadway, where it was largely embraced by critics. It opened at the Music Box Oct. 1, 2009, after previews from Sept. 16.

Mad Cow Theatre is located at 105 South Magnolia Avenue in Orlando, FL. For tickets call (407) 297-8788 or visit
