Classic Arts News Madrid's Teatro Real Names Artistic Director The Teatro Real in Madrid has appointed Antonio Moral its artistic director, the company announced.
Moral replaces stage director Emilio Sagi, who has been serving in the post on a temporary basis. The two will work together until September 1, when Moral takes full control.

According to the Associated Press, Moral has previously served as musical advisor of the Caja Madrid foundation and artistic director of La Coruê±a Mozart Festival.

In a statement, managing director Miguel Muê±iz praised Sagi's work and said that he planned to hire the director to stage productions in the future.

The Teatro Real's executive commission will confirm the appointment at its next meeting on February 28.
