News Maine State's Footloose Casts Its Ren McCormack, Ariel, Reverend Shaw and More Casting has been announced for the Maine State Music Theatre's upcoming production of the dance-themed Broadway musical Footloose, which will be presented Aug. 6-23.

Directed and choreographed by Patti Colombo, the cast will be led by Eric Sciotto as Ren McCormack and Kristen Martin as Ariel Moore with David Ruprecht as Reverend Shaw Moore, Heidi Kettenring as Vi Moore, MSMT favorite Charis Leos as Ethel McCormack, Tim Hughes as Willard, Cary Michelle Miller as Rusty, Eric Shorey as Cowboy Bob, Will Ray as Chuck Cranston, Jim Ruttman as Wes Warnicker, Lori Eure as Lulu Warnicker and David Girolmo as Coach Dunbar.

The company also includes Edward Andrew Lawrence, Samantha Lea Hewes, Sarah Marie Jenkins as Wendy Jo, Blair Best, Kenny Fancoeur, and Silas Moores and Alex Larson.

Footloose is described as "a story of American spirit – a carefree city kid transplanted to a conservative rural town where rock 'n roll and dancing are forbidden, who takes on the authorities, makes all the right moves, and wins the girl."

The score contains music and lyrics by Tom Snow and Dean Pitchford, with additional music by Eric Carmen, Sammy Hagar, Kenny Loggins and Jim Steinman. Songs include "Almost Paradise," "Holding Out For A Hero" and "Let's Hear It For The Boy."

The creative team also features Karl Warden (associate director/choreographer), Aaron McAllister (musical director), Charles S. Kading (scenic designer), Kurt Alger (costume designer) and Dan Efros (lighting designer).

Maine State Music Theatre is located at Pickard Theatre on the Bowdoin College Campus in Brunswick. Ticket prices range from $38 to $63 and are available through the MSMT Box Office at (207) 725-8769 or online at www.msmt.org.
