The two-time MAC nominee, who has been featured in concerts with Jeff Blumenkrantz, will perform the work of that composer as well as Funny Girl's "Coronet Man," the songs of Dinah Washington, and a few new takes on Loretta Lynn and Blood, Sweat and Tears. Showtimes are 7 PM on July 23 and 9:30 PM on July 28.

The Laurie Beechman concerts will be recorded live as part of Umphress' forthcoming solo debut album. The soulful-voiced singer will be backed by the Barry Levitt trio with Nathan Botts on horns.

Umphress' stage credits also include the York presentation of Good Time Charley and Kirsten Childs' Funked Up Fairy Tales at Barrington Stage Company. The Boston Conservatory graduate has performed at Birdland, B.B. Kings, the Iridium, the Metropolitan Room and Joe's Pub. Umphress serves as co-host of the popular "After Party" Friday night show-folk soiree at the Laurie Beechman Theatre.
