Walter Bobbie directs Jeffrey Hatcher's adaptation of Frederick Knott's 1950s murder mystery.

Bay Street Theater and Sag Harbor Center for the Arts' production of Frederick Knott's 1950s murder mystery Dial "M" for Murder officially opens July 1.

Adapted by Jeffrey Hatcher and directed by Walter Bobbie, the production began previews at Bay Street June 27. 

The cast features Mamie Gummer, Rosa Gilmore, Erich Bergen, Max Gordon Moore, and Reg Rogers.

Dial “M” for Murder, made famous by Alfred Hitchcock’s 1954 film, follows Tony, who suspects wife Margot—a wealthy socialite—is having an affair. As he plots to have her killed, the tension grows.

The creative team also includes scenic designer Anna Louizos, costume designer Jeff Mahshie, lighting designer Donald Holder, sound designer Dan Moses Schreier, fight director Thomas Schall, dialect coach Deborah Hecht, casting director Calleri Jensen Davis, and props designer Nicole Rozanski with antiques by Wyeth and assistant direction by Stefanie Anarumo. The production stage manager is Melissa Sparks.

Performances continue at the Sag Harbor, New York, venue through July 23.
