News Mamma Mia! Celebrates Las Vegas Milestone June 29 As Avenue Q prepares to make its Las Vegas debut in September, another Broadway favorite marks a milestone performance.

The Las Vegas production of Mamma Mia! — at the Mandalay Bay Resort and Casino — plays its 1,000th performance June 29. The ABBA-scored musical is now the most successful full-scale Broadway production ever to play the Vegas strip.

Mamma Mia! producer Judy Craymer said in a statement, "I’m particularly thrilled that audiences have been so supportive of Mamma Mia! in Las Vegas. I’m very proud that our musical is one of the most popular destinations on The Strip and that visitors and Las Vegas residents return to see the show again and again. One thousand shows is quite an accomplishment in any city."

Featuring music and lyrics by Benny Andersson and Björn Ulvaeus and a book by Catherine Johnson, the creative team for Mamma Mia! includes Anthony Van Laast (choreography), Mark Thompson (production design), Howard Harrison (lighting design), Andrew Bruce and Bobby Aitken (sound design) and musical supervision, additional material and arrangements by Martin Koch.

Mamma Mia! continues to play to sell-out crowds at Broadway's Cadillac Winter Garden Theatre. Song titles include "Dancing Queen," "Knowing Me, Knowing You," "Money, Money, Money," "S.O.S.," "The Name of the Game" and "The Winner Takes it All."

At the Mandalay Bay Theatre, Mamma Mia! plays Sunday-Thursday evenings at 7 PM and Saturdays at 6 and 10 PM. Tickets, priced $45-$100, are available by calling (703) 632-7580 or (703) 474-4000. Visit www.mandalaybay.com. For more information, log on to www.mamma-mia.com.
