Soon, audiences in China will be able to find out. The ABBA-inspired, Greek island-set hit musical is set to open in China in June 2011. The show will be presented in a Chinese-language production with a Chinese creative team. Auditions will be held in a three-round casting process August and November 2010 and January 2011.

This will be the thirteenth foreign-language production Mamma Mia! has received. The tale of an engaged young girl inviting her three possible fathers to her wedding – without telling her mother – opened in London at the Prince of Wales Theatre in 1999. It is currently running there, at the Winter Garden Theatre on Broadway, and in various national and international productions and tours.
