Livent, Disney and, reportedly, the Roundabout Theatre, are not alone in expanding their theatrical reach in Manhattan. Now Manhattan Theatre Club, located in the City Center building on West 55th St., has officially announced a new rehearsal and administrative complex in the heart of the theatre district. Artistic director Lynne Meadow and executive producer Barry Grove announced, Jan. 24, that MTC has taken possession of two floors at 311 West 43rd St., between 8th and 9th Ave. In so doing, not only will they create a much-needed Manhattan rehearsal space, but MTC will be able to relocate its administrative offices there (from the current 16th St. location).

Four new, rentable rehearsal studios with dance floors will comprise the new space, which totals over 20,000 square feet. Construction, by RKT&B Architects, is to begin Saturday, Feb. 1, making the new building ready by June.
