More than 60 Broadway professionals are set to raise funds for Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS on November 4 as they lace up for Dash to the Finish Line 5K.

The Broadway Run team includes cast members from A Bronx Tale, The Lion King, Waitress, and Hello, Dolly!; union members from Actors’ Equity Association, SAG-AFTRA, and the American Guild of Variety Artists; and staff from Carnegie Hall, Roundabout Theatre Company, Manhattan Theatre Club, and Broadway Cares, who are joined by their fellow actors, creative artists, and theatre fans for the 3.1-mile walk or run through the streets of Manhattan that ends at the famed New York City Marathon finish line in Central Park.

Ahead of their run, members of the Broadway Run team had the opportunity to meet with legendary marathoner Meb Keflezighi, who is the only athlete to win the NYC Marathon, the Boston Marathon, and an Olympic medal.

Keflezighi offered some words of inspiration to the runners. “I always say, ‘Run to win’,” Keflezighi said. “It doesn’t always mean getting first place, but to get the best out of yourself… We inspire each other. It’s not how fast you get there, it’s what you do in your life.”

Keflezighi is set to retire from running following his participation in the New York City Marathon November 5.

The Dash to the Finish Line 5K precedes the New York City Marathon, which takes place across the five boroughs of New York City November 5.
