Sure, there are the Christmas Carols, the Black Nativitys, even a Posada Magica. But are the holidays ready for an ex-gay Latina gone bad, whose Christmas encounters include a run-in with Frosty the Inappropriate Snowman?

Apparently so. Comedian Marga Gomez's tongue-in-cheek solo show The Twelve Days of Cochina has extended its San Francisco run at Theater Rhinoceros by two weeks, now playing through Dec. 22. Performances began Nov. 9. Doug Holsclaw directs.

In Spanish, the word Cochina implies a filthy, dirty person; in Gomez's world, it means a Latina gone wrong. And has Cochina ever gone wrong. Once lesbian, but now giving up sex for Christmas, Conchina finds herself shuttling between Christmas Past (that encounter with the snowman) and Christmas Future, when faith-based charities enslave the world and global warming makes roasting chestnuts on the sidewalk very possible. The performance, workshopped in December, 2000 at New York City's Dixon Place, also features the Bush Puppets.

Gomez's other solo works include A Line Around the Block, Memory Tricks, Higher High Lower Lows, jaywalker and Marga Gomez Is Pretty, Witty and Gay. According to her bio, "her turnoffs include talking belly buttons and ringing cell phones. She lives in Brooklyn, NY where she's keeping it real gay."
