News Mariah Carey Talks Possible Glitter Musical During the Watch What Happens Live After Show, the Grammy winner revealed she’d be interested in adapting the album.

On the December 18 episode of Bravo’s Watch What Happens Live, a caller asked if pop singer Mariah Carey would ever consider adapting Glitter into a Broadway musical.

“That’s an interesting question,” said Carey. “That’s something that I’ve been thinking about because I actually own that soundtrack. I really do like it. It was something I tried to do before I think people were ready.”

The soundtrack is from the film of the same name and Carey’s eighth studio album. Produced by 20th Century Fox and Columbia Pictures, the movie starred Carey as Billie Frank, a club dancer who aspires, along with her two friends, to be a famous singer.

“The movie had so many problems,” Carey admitted to WWHL host Andy Cohen, “but I would definitely do something with it for the true fans. Something in a Rocky Horror-esque type of way.”
