News Marissa Perry to Return to Hairspray at Reagle; Casting Announced Marissa Perry, who played plus-size heroine Tracy Turnblad during the Broadway run of the Tony Award-winning musical Hairspray, will re-create her role in a new production at Reagle Music Theatre in Waltham, MA.

The production will run Aug. 12-22 and will be directed and choreographed by Todd Michael Smith and Judine Somerville.

The production will also feature Dan Dowling Jr. as Edna Turnblad; John Macero as Wilbur Turnblad; Mark Linehan as Corny Collins; Debra Thais Evans as Motormouth Maybelle; Susan Scannell as Velma Von Tussle; Stephanie Moskal as Amber Von Tussle; Nick Peciaro as Link Larkin; Lenni Kmiec as Penny Pingleton; Dayron Monroe as Seaweed; Rebecca Policape as Little Inez; and Lovely Hoffman, Samantha Johnson and Kami Smith as The Dynamites.

Hairspray follows Tracy's journey to stardom as the lead dancer on the 1960s Baltimore local dance show, "The Corny Collins Show," finding love with the boy of her dreams and helping to integrate the show in the process. Marc Shaiman and Scott Wittman's tuneful score includes "You Can't Stop the Beat," "I Can Hear the Bells," "Timeless to Me," "I Know Where I've Been," "Mama, I'm a Big Girl Now," "Run and Tell That," "Without Love," Welcome to the 60's" and "Good Morning, Baltimore." The book to the musical is by Thomas Meehan and Mark O'Donnell.
