News Mark Indelicato, Alyson Reed to Star in "High School Musical" Spin-Off Pilot, "Madison High" "Ugly Betty" star Mark Indelicato and Tony Award nominee Alyson Reed will star in "Madison High," a pilot for a proposed Disney Channel spin-off series based on the "High School Musical" franchise, according to TVGuide.com.

The series will also feature Luke Benward, Leah Lewis and G Hannelius in a tale of high school students looking to rebuild their theatre program by creating an original musical based on their life stories. Reed will reprise her "High School Musical" role as drama teacher Ms. Darbus.

The pilot will feature four original songs; songwriters will include former "American Idol" judge Kara DioGuardi and Matthew Gerrard. The pilot will be written by Lester Lewis and directed by Paul Hoen.

In addition to his work as Justin Suarez on "Ugly Betty," Indelicato appeared as the Artful Dodger in a Pittsburgh Civic Light Opera production of Oliver! and as Boq in the Yellow Brick Road Not Taken benefit performance of songs cut from Wicked.

Reed received a Tony Award nomination for Cabaret and a Drama Desk Award nomination for Marilyn. Other Broadway credits include A Grand Night for Singing; Dance a Little Closer; Oh, Brother!; and Dancin'.
