News Mark La Mura and Jeff Talbott Are Pioneer Theatre Company's Odd Couple, Opening March 22 Pioneer Theatre Company presents Neil Simon's iconic comedy The Odd Couple, officially opening March 22, following previews that began March 20, at the Simmons Pioneer Memorial Theatre in Salt Lake City. Mark La Mura and Jeff Talbott star.

Directed by PTC artistic director Karen Azenberg, who is now in her inaugural season there, the production continues through April 6.

The cast features Helen Anker (Promises, Promises) as Cecily Pigeon, Amy Bodnar (Oklahoma!, Ragtime) as Gwendolyn Pigeon, Joe DeBevc as Murray, Kent Hadfield as Roy, Paul Kiernan as Speed, La Mura (Dinner at Eight, Taking Sides) as Oscar Madison, Nathan Sears as Vinnie and Talbott (Sly Fox, Fortune's Fool) as Felix Ungar.

Here's how PTC bills the work: "After their thoroughly fed up wives throw them out, sloppy sportswriter Oscar Madison and uptight neat freak Felix Ungar decide to move in together, thinking they'll save on expenses and have a few laughs. But it turns out the laughs are on them."

Other members of the creative team include scenic designer Michael Schweikhardt, costume designer Brenda Van der Weil, lighting designer Michael Gilliam, sound designer Matthew Tibbs, stage manager Mary P. Costello, production stage manager Jeffrey Stewart Williams, dramaturg Greg Hatch, first assistant stage manager Christine Moore and second assistant stage manager Jerry Jensen.
