News Marrick Smith and Jessica Grové Will Take Part in Reading of The Underclassman, New Musical About F. Scott Fitzgerald Prospect Theater Company will present a private developmental reading of the original musical The Underclassman Nov. 25 at New 42nd Street Studios.

Based on the life of F. Scott Fitzgerald and inspired by his novel "This Side of Paradise," The Underclassman has music and lyrics by Peter Mills and a book by Mills and Cara Reichel.

The reading will feature Marrick Smith as F. Scott Fitzgerald and Jessica Grové as debutante Ginevra King with Prospect alumni Andrew Brewer, Jason Edward Cook, Piper Goodeve, Laura Hankin, Adam Daveline and Courter Simmons. Rounding out the company are newcomers Jordan Bondurant, Lauren Chapman, Max Chernin, Kyle Eberlein, Daniel Emond, Charles Franklin, Ali Gordon, C.J. Pawlikowski, Lexi Rabadi, Kevin Shotwell and R.J. Vaillancourt.

The Underclassman, according to press notes, "follows the early life of F. Scott Fitzgerald, from 1914 - 1917. Brilliantly talented, Fitzgerald is swept into the hierarchy of Ivy League society and the antics of the Princeton Triangle Club, in pursuit of the beautiful and elusive debutante Ginevra King – who became the model for the character of Daisy Buchanan in 'The Great Gatsby.'"

Cara Reichel will direct, and Daniel Feyer is the musical director. Kat West is the stage manager. Additional members of the project's creative team are choreographer Christine O’Grady and costume designer Sidney Shannon.
