Emmy Award winner and three-time Tony Award nominee Martha Plimpton will perform her cabaret act All The Presidents Mann at Bard SummerScape June 29. Performances will take place at 7 PM and 9:30 PM in the Spiegeltent cabaret.
Created with music director Dan Lipton, All The Presidents Mann pays tribute to the work of songwriter Aimee Mann. Throughout the evening, Plimpton and Lipton dedicate songs to some of their most (and least) favorite U.S. Presidents, as they “lead their audience through a minefield of love, loss, and electoral misjudgment, with the music of one of America's greatest living songwriters.”
All The Presidents Mann will feature special guests Julian Fleisher and Lucy Wainwright Roche, with Alexandra Eckhardt on bass, Matt Beck on guitar, and Damien Bassman on drums.
Plimpton was last seen on Broadway in the revival of Edward Albee’s A Delicate Balance. She earned Tony nominations for her performances in Pal Joey, Top Girls, and The Coast of Utopia. On screen, she has starred in the sitcoms The Real O’Neals and Raisng Hope, and won an Emmy Award for her work on The Good Wife. Plimpton was also among the stars of the recent film adaptation of Hello Again.
