Directed by Karen Carpenter with music direction by Darren Cohen, the readings will feature Matt Bogart as Raoul Wallenberg with Sierra Boggess and Tony winner Dick Latessa.
In a statement producer Douglas Evans said, "We are fortunate to have such talented Broadway stars bringing to life the heroic efforts and actions of Raoul Wallenberg to the stage. If it wasn't for Mr. Wallenberg, over 100,000 lives would have been lost in Budapest over the course of six months in 1945."
The musical was written by the 2006 Kleban Award-winning team of Laurence Holzman and Felicia Needleman, with music by Benjamin Rosenbluth. Wallenberg, according to press notes, "brings to life the fascinating story of Raoul Wallenberg, one of the greatest heroes of the 20th Century who in 1945 saved the lives of 100,000 Jews in Budapest then disappeared."
