Writer/Director Richard Maxwell presents his latest Ute Mnos v. Crazy Liquors at Fools Company's Eden Arcade in New York, through March 1.
Based on a true story, Ute Mnos (pronounced Oot Nos) is a transient -- a man living on "the edge of society". He enters a bar frequented by football players, and is beaten unconscious. Although his drunken state that night prevents him from remembering his or their actions, he decides to file a lawsuit against the bar, "Crazy Liquors" -- using the testimony of those who were suspects and witnesses to his beating.
With Ute Mnos, Maxwell continues to embrace "the realities of limited funding and shrinking show budgets, allowing the consequences to be an aesthetic guide rather than an enemy".
Ute Mnos features: Lakpa Bhutia, Jaymes Brevard, Ryan Bronz, Jack Doulin, Yehuda Duenyas, Bob Feldman, Kevin Hurley, Emily McDonnell, Gary Wilmes, and Ford Wright.
