News MCC Extends LaBute's In a Dark Dark House by Two Weeks MCC Theatre has extended its world-premiere presentation of Neil LaBute's In A Dark Dark House — starring Ron Livingston, Louisa Krause and Frederick Weller — through July 7 at the Lucille Lortel.

Carolyn Cantor directs the new work that began previews May 16 and opened June 7 for a run originally scheduled through June 23. The show, "due to popular demand," now add another two weeks of performances and will end its run July 7.

Set in a "private psychiatric facility," as press materials reveal, In a Dark Dark House finds two brothers who are brought together again as one undergoes court-ordered rehab. The forced reunion brings to light "barely-hidden animosities between the two" and "their troubled legacy, both inside and outside their dark family home."

Livingston is perhaps best known for his work in such films as "Office Space," "The Cooler," "Adaptation" and "Swingers." The actor — who has appeared onstage in Pensacola (Mark Taper Forum), Celebrity (Actors Gang), The Iceman Cometh (Goodman Theatre) and Titus Andronicus (Williamstown) — is also known for his television work on "Band of Brothers," "Standoff," "Sex and the City" and "The Practice."

Krause has appeared regionally in Rocket to the Moon (Long Wharf Theatre), Les Liaisons Dangereuses (Huntington Theatre), Aida (Ogunquit Playhouse), Side Show, The Cripple of Inishmaan and more. She also appears in the upcoming films "The Babysitters" and "Superheroes."

Weller — recently seen Off-Broadway in Some Men — has also previously worked with LaBute on both the Off-Broadway and film versions of The Shape of Things. The actor has appeared on Broadway in Glengarry Glen Ross, Seascape, Take Me Out and Off-Broadway in Mother Courage. The design team includes Beowulf Boritt (scenic), Jenny Mannis (costume), Ben Stanton (lighting) and Rob Kaplowitz (music and sound).

Director Cantor recently staged Off-Broadway's Essential Self Defense. The Edge Theater founding artistic director has also directed Orange Flower Water, Stone Cold Dead Serious (for Edge) as well as EVE-olution (Cherry Lane) and Kitty Kitty Kitty (SPF).
