News McDonald, Savage, van Ark Join Off-Broadway Exonerated, July 29 Joan van Ark ("Knots Landing"), Christopher McDonald ("Grease 2") and John Savage ("Hair") join the cast of Jessica Blank and Erik Jensen's The Exonerated, July 29 for a stint through Aug. 3.

The Exonerated is drawn from the stories of a half-dozen former death row inmates who shared a variety of experiences and feelings with playwrights Blank and Jensen. Most described losing their faith in the justice system, while discovering that it was the resources available to a defense team that made the difference between achieving justice or experiencing a miscarriage of it. Bob Balaban (the actor seen in "A Mighty Wind") directs.

van Ark — known to many as Valene Ewing on both "Dallas" and "Knots Landing" — was nominated in 1971 for her performance in The School for Wives. Other Broadway credits include Barefoot in the Park and The Rules of the Game.

McDonald has appeared in numerous films such as "Grease 2," "Dutch," "Thelma & Louise", "Quiz Show," "Happy Gilmore," "61*" and "Requiem for a Dream." Savage made a name for himself in such films as "The Deer Hunter" and "Hair." The actor also appeared on stage in American Buffalo, Ari and Of Mice and Men.

Sanders, Richard Schiff, Kyra Sedgwick, Ally Sheedy, Brooke Shields, John Spencer, Mary Steenburgen, Lee Tergesen, Marlo Thomas, Kathleen Turner, Robert Vaughn, Ben Vereen, Debra Winger and Montel Williams.
