LuPone will also perform one Sondheim tune at the event, which kicks off the Sept. 22 and 23 presentation of the new musical revue Beautiful Girls. The revue is a tribute to Sondheim and will be presented at the Pikes Peak Center in Colorado Springs. Narrated by veteran actress Zoe Caldwell, Beautiful Girls will boast the talents of Donna McKechnie, Jen Colella and Marin Mazzie. The revue, according to press notes, "explores a woman's journey through the different stages of her life as reflected in the work of Mr. Sondheim. Drawing from his extraordinary canon of songs written for the female characters in his shows, the revue creates a collage of all of the philosophies of love and life as seen through these characters eyes."

Lonny Price directs Beautiful Girls; Paul Gemignani will conduct a full orchestra.

The Colorado Festival of World Theatre runs through Sept. 30 in Colorado Springs. Tickets may be purchased by calling (719) 475-1737. For more information visit www.cfwt.org.
