Best known for her Tony-winning performance as Cassie in A Chorus Line, Donna McKechnie has appeared in a plethora of musicals both on and Off-Broadway, some of which include roles in How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying, Company, State Fair, Can-Can, Annie Get Your Gun, I’m Getting My Act Together and Taking It On the Road, State Fair and Promises, Promises. In her one-woman musical celebration, Inside the Music, McKechnie performs songs from several of these productions and offers personal anecdotes about her experiences with some of the theatre’s finest actors, directors, producers and writers. The critically hailed show, which McKechnie has performed on stages around the world, will be recorded live March 7 in front of an invited audience at New York’s Clinton Studios. The intimate portrait of McKechnie’s musical journey, which was written by Christopher Durang and directed by Thommie Walsh, will be preserved on the Fynsworth Alley label.
