Clive Cholerton directs what Caldwell calls "a complex love story set against the backdrop of the gathering Nazi storm" and "laced with lust, conspiracies and diabolical revenge." First staged at Caldwell's 2008 Play Reading Series, the play was cheered by audiences and is being billed as a sort of deconstruction of the sex-and-power tale of pre-Revolution France, "Les Liaisons Dangereuses," the novel by Pierre Choderlos de Laclos.

Previews began Feb. 22. Multiple award-winning playwright McKeever's farce Suite Surrender world-premiered at Caldwell last season. The new play contains adult content and nudity. Performances play to March 29.

The Dangerous cast includes Ashley Ellenburg, Brett Fleisher, Wynn Harmon, Michael McKenzie, Harriet Oser, Marta Reiman and David A. Rudd.

The creative team includes Tim Bennett (scenic designer), Tom Salzman (lighting designer), Alberto Arroyo (costume designer), Sean Lawson (assistant technical director) and Robert Herrle (stage manager). McKeever was born in Miami and is a three-time Carbonell Award winner for Best New Work (Melt, Running with Scissors and The Garden of Hannah List) and winner of four Curtain-Up Awards. He has been honored with an NEA Residency Grant and has been a two-time finalist for Humana Festival's Heideman Award. He is also an award-winning actor and designer. His awards stretch from 1996 to 2008, and his plays have been staged in Germany, Austria and throughout America, including Off- Broadway.
