News Mecca and Perlman to See the "Colored Lights" of The Rink for Musicals Tonight! Mary Jo Mecca and Stacie Perlman will co-star in a staged concert of the Kander and Ebb musical The Rink for Musicals Tonight! in Manhattan.

Thomas Sabella-Mills will stage the limited engagement that will run March 9-21 at the McGinn/Cazale Theatre. Paul Johnson is musical director.

Mecca will star as Rink-owner Anna opposite Perlman as her daughter Angel. The cast will also feature Danny Gardner, David Garry, David Brent Howard, Christian Marriner, Brad Nacht, David Shane and Paige Simunovich.

Kander and Ebb's 1984 musical, featuring a book by Terrence McNally, centers on the relationship between a mother and daughter with conflicting plans for the family business, a decaying roller rink. The two come to terms with their past through a series of flashbacks.

Despite its co-stars, Chita Rivera and Liza Minnelli, the original Broadway production of The Rink lasted only 204 performances at the Martin Beck Theatre. The original cast also feature Rob Marshall, Jason Alexander and Scott Ellis. Songs from The Rink, include "Colored Lights"; "Chief Cook and Bottle Washer"; "Don't 'Ah Ma' Me"; "We Can Make It"; "Marry Me"; "The Apple Doesn't Fall"; and "All the Children in a Row."
