The work is billed as "a dramatic play about the origins of The Impressionist Movement" and is "infused with humanity, heartbreak and humor showing these artists as people like us who overcame struggles and hardships to successfully pursue their dream of a new art form."
The play is "explores the relationships between the friends who made up an artist salon in Paris in the 1860s."
Directed by Caldwell artistic and manager director Michael Hall, the cast includes Tim Burke (as Edgar Degas), Eric Martin Brown (as Edouard Manet), Peter Haig (in multiple roles), Terrell Hardcastle (as Claude Monet), Deanna Henson (as Berthe Morisot), Kathryn Lee Johnston (in multiple roles), George Kapetan (as Camille Pissarro) and Bruce Linser (as Pierre-Auguste Renoir).
The production (to May 21) will mark the first time the resident Equity Boca Raton troupe uses a video projection system "that will be incorporated into its traditional stage design, adding a variety of elements sure to enhance the theatrical experience."
