News Melissa van der Schyff, Ryan Silverman, Melissa O'Neil, Danielle Wade and More Will Blame Canada! at 54 Below Blame Canada!, an evening spotlighting Canadian musical theatre, will celebrate the launch of the Canadian Musical Theatre Writers Collective (CMTWC) March 17 at 54 Below.

Founded by Landon Braverman and Joseph Trefler, the CMTWC is a new national organization devoted to "supporting and promoting the work of Canadian musical theatre writers both at home and abroad."

The 9:30 PM concert will feature a host of Canadian Broadway talent, including Melissa O'Neil (Les Misérables, Jesus Christ Superstar), Ryan Silverman (Passion, Chicago), Aaron Walpole (Les Misérables, Jesus Christ Superstar), Melissa van der Schyff (Bonnie & Clyde, Big River), Camille Eanga-Selenge (The Book of Mormon), Danielle Wade (The Wizard of Oz), Alexandra Frohlinger (Soul Doctor, West Side Story national tour), Timothy J. Alex (Motown, Elf), Sam Strasfeld (Annie, Scandalous), Keely Hutton (Stratford Festival's Tommy, Fiddler on the Roof) and Evan Smith (Dancap Production's Toxic Avenger, Shaw Festival's Ragtime), among others.

The concert, featuring music direction by Rick Fox (Jesus Christ Superstar, Rent), will include songs by established and emerging Canadian musical theatre writers, including Neil Bartram and Brian Hill, Ted Dykstra, and Leslie Arden, among others.

Blame Canada! is produced in partnership with The Canadian Music Theatre Project, Sheridan College and Michael Rubinoff.
