Multi-Oscar winning composer Alan Menken visited New York's legendary Palace Theatre April 17 to help the cast of his musical, Beauty and the Beast, celebrate the show's second anniversary on Broadway.

Radio personality Cousin Brucie emceed a ceremony in which the current Belle (Kerry Butler) and Beast (Steve Blanchard) were honored by having their hand/paw prints preserved in concrete, in the style of Mann's Chinese Theatre in Hollywood.

The prints were mounted on the exterior of the Palace, under the marquee.

Mrs. Potts (Beth Fowler) then invited members of the public to come into the lobby of the theatre for cookies and, yes, tea.

Menken also wrote music for Aladdin, The Little Mermaid, Pocahontas, Little Shop of Horrors and Weird Romance.
