The late Ethel Merman plays a role in The Eleven O'Clock Number.

Directed by Kevin Dean, the limited engagement will run through Feb. 24, 2008. The play, according to press notes, is described as "a metaphysical comedy about a die hard musical comedy nut whose life is turned upside down when Ethel Merman's ghost moves in with him and begins granting his every wish." David Goldyn stars as the musical theatre fan with Merry Jo Pitas as the ghost of Ethel Merman.

The Eleven O'Clock Number was the winner of the Best New Play Award at Stage 3 in Sonora, CA, and was first runner-up in the New Orleans Saints and Sinners New Play Competition. Playwright Kane also penned "Best Actress" (Ballantine Books).
