Stephen Sondheim and George Furth’s short-lived Broadway musical Merrily We Roll Along will be presented by students of the New York Film Academy October 6–8.

The production will be directed by Robert W. Schneider, who assisted director-filmmaker Lonny Price on the acclaimed Merrily We Roll Along documentary Best Worst Thing That Ever Could Have Happened. Kevin David Thomas (2009 revival of A Little Night Music) will music direct.

Harold Prince directed the original production of the 1981 Broadway musical based on Kaufman and Hart’s 1934 Broadway play of the same title. The musical travels backwards in time to navigate the bumpy history of three friends who start their careers in show business together.

New York Film Academy is located at 17 Battery Place in New York City. Visit NYFA.edu.
