Classic Arts News Met to Give Encore Simulcasts of Puritani and First Emperor The Metropolitan Opera's simulcasts of Bellini's I Puritani and Tan Dun's The First Emperor are already back by popular demand.
"Metropolitan Opera: Live in HD" launched on December 30 with the company's English-language version of The Magic Flute. According to the Met, the simulcast performance reached a global audience of nearly 30,000 people and ticket sales were at more than 90% of capacity.

In the U.S. I Puritani, starring Anna Netrebko, will be rebroadcast in cinemas on February 13 at 7 p.m. (all time zones);The First Emperor, starring Plšcido Domingo, will repeat on March 7 at 7 p.m. and March 11 at 1:30 p.m (all time zones)

In Canada, Puritani will be shown again on February 10 and The First Emperor on March 10.

The next live broadcasts will be Tchaikovsky's Eugene Onegin, starring Ren_e Fleming and Dmitri Hvorostovsky, on February 24; Rossini's The Barber of Seville starring Juan Diego Fl‹rez, Joyce DiDonato, and Peter Mattei, on March 24, and Puccini's Il trittico on April 28.
