Art Metrano, best known for his performances as Lt. Hauser in "Police Academy" movies and for his work as a stand-up comic, has once again extended his one-man show, Metrano's Accidental Comedy, at the Odyssey Theatre, this time through July 4. The show opened March 3 and was originally supposed to end April 9, then again April 30, and yet again May 28. Joe Bologna directs.

Metrano's solo turn, which played as "The Amazing Metrano" Off Broadway a few seasons back, is based on personal experience. In 1989, due to a freak accident, he suffered a broken neck which many doctors thought would leave him a quadriplegic. But through rehabilitation and willpower, Metrano was able to make a miraculous recovery.

Director Bologna is married to Renee Taylor, with whom he has written, and appeared in, many plays (including Bermuda Avenue Triangle). Set design is by Tom Butternitz, lights by Kathi O'Donohue and costumes by Rebecca Metrano.
