In a press statement, Robert O’Dowd, chief executive of Rose Theatre Kingston, commented, "For the past six years the Rose has been committed to bringing world class theatre to Kingston. In 2014 we will continue to produce our own work and develop exciting new partnerships with other theatres and production companies. We also look forward to welcoming an exciting mix of theatre companies to the Rose stage for the first time, as well as seeing the return of ever popular companies, Propeller and Tall Stories."

Donkey's Years will begin performances Feb. 6, 2014, prior to an official opening Feb. 12, for a run through Feb. 22. It is directed by Lisa Spirling, who previously directed Frayn's Here at the Rose in 2012.

Hetty Feather, co-produced with Kenny Wax and William Archer in association with Novel Theatre, will begin performances April 5 prior to an official opening April 9 for a run through April 20. Sally Cookson directs Emma Reeves' adaptation of the novel that follows Hetty's escape from the Foundling Hospital.

Brian Friel's Translations will transfer to the Rose after premiering at Sheffield Theatres, beginning performances April 22 for a run through May 3.
