New Jersey Star Ledger drama critic, Michael Sommers, has been named the president of the New York Drama Critics Circle. The circle comprises all the major New York-area theatre critics. The group convenes at the end of each theatre season to name the best play and musical, in what is one of the oldest and most prized honors in theatre. Sommers takes the spot of exiting president Jacques le Sourd, critic for Gannett Newspapers. His duties begin this season. Long the critic for the Star Ledger, Sommers recently published his first novel.
