Classic Arts News Michael Uthoff Named Artistic Director of Teatro Colón Dance Company Michael Uthoff has been named the new artistic director of the Ballet Estable of the Teatro Colón in Buenos Aires, Argentina, the Arizona Republic reports.
Uthoff was previously artistic director of Ballet Arizona and Hartford Ballet. His own company, the Scottsdale-based Michael Uthoff Dance Theatre, performs works by 20th-century master choreographers, as well as Uthoff's own work.

A native of Chile whose parents founded the Chilean National Ballet, Uthoff studied with Jos_ Lim‹n at Juilliard and danced with the Lim‹n Dance Company and the Joffrey Ballet.

He will oversee 80 dancers and work under Tito Capobianco, the opera house's artistic director.
