The panel, which will be moderated by NY1 anchor and theatre critic Roma Toree, is presented by the Office of Film, Theatre and Broadcasting; the Apollo Theater Education Program; and the Broadway League. Panelists are set to include lighting designer Kevin Adams (American Idiot, Spring Awakening), writer-director-choreographer Marion J. Caffey (3 Mo' Divas, Three Mo' Tenors), actress-composer/lyricist-playwright Micki Grant (Don't Bother Me, I Can't Cope; Your Arms Too Short to Box with God); costume designer Ann Hould-Ward (A Free Man of Color, Beauty and the Beast); associate choreographer Ruthlyn Salomons (The Lion King, The Color Purple); and conductor/musical director Kenny Seymour (Memphis).
According to press notes, the panel "will provide students and interested New Yorkers with firsthand accounts about what it’s like to work in a creative position in the theatre. Panelists will also share their career advice with the audience on how best to get started in the city’s thriving production industry."
