Performances of Academy Award winner Paddy Chayefsky's comedy continue through March 29.
Directed by Keen artistic director Jonathan Silverstein, the cast also features Todd Bartels (Bingo With the Indians, Church), Tony nominee Amelia Campbell (Our Country's Good, A Streetcar Named Desire), Alyssa May Gold (Arcadia, Lemon Sky), Nicole Lowrance (Peter and the Starcatcher, Dividing the Estate), Denise Lute (Harry Outside, Bug) and Melissa Miller (The Merchant Of Venice, I Never Sang for My Father).
Here's how the production is billed: "When an older Jewish widower and a young gentile bride of another man meet and fall in love, their relationship throws their disapproving families into a tizzy."
"Mr. Chayefsky's breadth and depth of work has always intrigued me and I am honored to reintroduce his work to New York audiences. Middle Of The Night is a forgotten gem that Keen Company specializes in and centers on a subject I am deeply passionate about, namely outsiders who struggle against the status quo. I am thrilled to present this large cast play in a pared down fashion, utilizing a versatile ensemble of seven, many of whom will be playing multiple roles," Silverstein said in a previous statement.
The design team for Middle Of The Night includes Steven Kemp (set), Jonathan Spencer (lighting), Jennifer Paar (costume), Obadiah Eaves (sound) and Ricola Wille (properties).
