News Midsummer, Othello and Titus Running, Old Globe Announces Next Summer Shakespeare Fest With its current Summer Season is just underway, San Diego's Old Globe has announced the lineup for its 2007 Summer Shakespeare Festival with the Bard's The Two Gentlemen of Verona, Measure for Measure and Hamlet.

Darko Tresjnak will return once again to spearhead the annual event to performed in nightly rotation in the Lowell Davies Festival Theatre June 17 – Sept. 30, 2007. The three Shakespeare productions will be part of a five-play summer season, which two other productions (to play the Old Globe Theatre and in the Cassius Carter Centre Stage) to be announced at a later date.

A single company currently performs this year's three Bard works — A Midsummer Night's Dream, Othello and Titus Andronicus — in repertory at the outdoor Lowell Davies Festival Theatre, June 18-Oct. 1. Tresjnak stages A Midsummer Night’s Dream and Titus Andronicus with Jesse Berger (The Revenger’s Tragedy) directing Othello.

The 2006 lineup also includes Wendy Wasserstein's The Sisters Rosensweig (running in the Old Globe Theatre, July 15-Aug. 20) and John Strand's Lincolnesque (in the Cassius Carter Centre Stage Aug. 5-Sept. 10). David Warren stages the former with Joe Calarco (Shakespeare’s R&J) directing the latter.
