News Midtown Festival Musical Connect/Disconnect to Feature Keeling Derek Keeling, who appeared in the recent Broadway revival of Grease, will co-star in the American premiere of Connect/Disconnect in the Midtown International Theatre Festival.

Rick Jacobs (Eating Raoul, Golden Boy) directs the intimate musical that features a score by Jan-Erik Sääf and a libretto by Owen Robertson. Connect/Disconnect runs July 21-Aug. 2 at the June Havoc Theatre.

Press notes read: "It's 2009. In London, a policewoman is looking for a real man, and a young lad is just looking for fun. In New York, a husband is trying to find his true identity, and a wife is afraid to shatter a perfect illusion. This comedy/drama asks what does it take to connect to people when we have a million ways to communicate but are losing the skill to talk face-to-face?"

The 90-minute English language presentation of Connect/Disconnect is based on the original Swedish version that featured a libretto by Ola Hörling. The musical has been in development for ten years with incarnations in Sweden, Denmark, Finland, Estonia and Germany.

Casting is currently underway for Keeling's co-star in the two-person musical. In addition to his performance as Danny Zuko in the reality television-inspired revival of Grease, Keeling appeared in the regional premiere of A Tale of Two Cities, as well as the West Coast premiere of All Shook Up and an earlier national tour of Grease.
