The American premiere of Schubert, also directed by Grammy winner Migenes, will play the Los Angeles venue through Aug. 23. Migenes will be joined onstage by Jeff Marlow as Schubert with Victoria Kirsch on piano.

The production, which premiered in Paris, "explores the complexity of the composer through his personal letters and compositions," according to press notes. Schubert's actual letters lead in to his music.

In addition to her numerous opera credits, Migenes has appeared on Broadway in Carnival!, West Side Story and Fiddler on the Roof.

Show times are Friday and Saturday at 8 PM and Sunday at 7 PM.

The Odyssey Theatre is located at 2055 South Sepulveda Blvd., Los Angeles, CA. 90025. Tickets, priced $30, can be purchased either at the box office or on line at www.odysseytheatre.com.
