News Mike Birbiglia Announces Off-Broadway Run of Thank God for Jokes Comedian, writer and actor Mike Birbiglia has announced a limited Off-Broadway engagement of his new show, Thank God for Jokes, at The Lynn Redgrave Theater. The show marks his return to the New York stage following two earlier, acclaimed solo shows.

Performances are scheduled to run Feb. 2, 2016-March 13. The actor tweeted the announcement Nov. 27, adding that he wasn't doing any press for the production yet.

Thank God for Jokes, a comedy which explores to what extent we should go for a laugh, played at BAM last September and has toured over 80 cities in America. "Birbiglia tiptoes hilariously through the minefield that is joke-telling," states a description on the show's website. "Join Mike as he tells jokes with Fozzie Bear, shares private jokes with his wife and cat, and makes light of a life-threatening condition."

It is directed by Seth Barrish and features set design by Tony winner Beowulf Boritt.

Brooklyn native Birbiglia won the Lucille Lortel Award for Outstanding Solo Show for his acclaimed My Girlfriend's Boyfriend. The show was a follow-up to his acclaimed Off-Broadway debut, Sleepwalk With Me, presented by Nathan Lane and for which he was nominated for Drama Desk and Outer Critics Circle awards. In 2012 he directed and starred in a Sundance-winning film adaptation. His acting credits include "The Fault in Our Stars," "Trainwreck," "Orange Is the New Black" and "Inside Amy Schumer."
